It was a mind blowing event last 18th of February 2010 as Anchor Insurance Company Limited activated the Anchor Brand in Akure, the Ondo state capital. This brand awareness was meant to establish a lasting relationship between Anchor insurance company and the Ondo State insurance market. The Brand also aim at selling the benefits of insurance to the people of Ondo state and also to make them see why they should do business with the Anchor brand.
Speaking with the Managing Director of the company Mr. Mayowa Adeduro . “We at Anchor have decided to take insurance to every corner in the country and make sure everybody is insured no matter their socio economic level.
‘As you have already known, one of our plan is to take insurance to its rightful place in the nation’s economy by making sure every Nigerian citizen is insured or has an insurance policy, and to achieve this it is very important to carry everybody along no matter their Socio Economic Status” we believe in speed, accuracy and transparency in our business, our business is to serve the customers and make them happy for placing their risk with us. It is for this reason we have made it a priority in our own company to always put a smile on the faces of our partners, clients and anybody doing business with us.” These were the words of Mr. Adeduro at the event.
The event which lasted for greater part of the day hosted a lot of guests from the Ondo state Government officials including a representative of the deputy governor of the state, commissioners, business men and women, players in the Insurance industry like Brokers and other Insurance companies.
Recounting on experience with Anchor Insurance, on speedy claim settlement; Rtd. General Idowu Akinyemi encourage individuals and businessmen to take insurance as high priority in managing modern day risk. He narrated how his vehicle claim was paid without delay and advise Ondo state indigenes to take advantage of the prompt and fast claim settlement of the Anchor brand.
The brand activation was welcomed by everybody at the event and with this the company hope to move full into the western part of the country to drive the Anchor brand into the heart of the people and gain loyalty from them.

UNIVERSITY HOSTEL FIRE-ANCHOR INSURANCE PRESENTS N4.5 MILLION INTERIM PAYMENT
The Management of Anchor Insurance Company has presented a cheque of N4.5 Million to the Insurance Brokers of the University of Uyo as an interim settlement of fire incident that gutted a part of the female hostel recently to ensure that debris are cleared and other arrangement put in place for early reinstatement of the hostel. The final payment is being expected after the conclusions of verification and adjustment by an independent adjuster.
It will be recalled that the School also suffered fire incident in the hostel in 2007, which insurance compensation had been paid.
In a recent visit to Anchor Insurance Mr. Jeremiah Nsima DGM (Technical) said “The value of having insurance is for prompt settlement of claims and this is our believe in Anchor Insurance Company Ltd. Our priority as a company is to make every individual or organization that has placed their risk with us enjoy the benefit of having their claims quickly processed and paid without delay and not making the insured suffer for the loss”.
The company (Anchor Insurance) presented a cheque of N1.4 million to J.S Tommy Oil & Gas Ltd for loss of goods in transit, covering 33,000 litres of Kerosene that got burnt at Idi – Iroko very recently.
Speaking with our correspondence the AGM (Marketing) Mr. Uzo Ofurum claimed that Anchor Insurance settled various claims in 2009 in excess of N100 Million. The highest single claimant been Uniglobal services limited Port Harcourt. A Marine Hull risk co-insured with Union Assurance.
Anchor Move to a New Site in Lekki
In the process of re-defining insurance, Anchor Insurance has strategically moved her Corporate Head Office to a choice area in Lagos to position the company as a strong player in the Insurance industry.
The movement to a choice area in Lekki phase 1 is based on the company’s promise to re-define insurance and makes it take, it rightful place in the nation’s economy.
